Baldface Footy

Filed under: Uncategorized — Bunny @ 4:31 pm

Maxx and Ryan were lucky enough to get invited to Frequency week up at Baldface and this is what they brought back. *Note: Maxx is wearing a giant Yeti suit, thus the furry arms.*
Enjoy.

One opera house where the fat lady has not yet sung

New Oslo Opera House Is Really a Stealth Skate

Park

According to the article below, our crazy brethren across the pond have started to accept that what they see as visually appealing, a lot of us see as skateable. Hope this trend makes its way to Seattle, whether the article is valid or not, it is something to think about.

“For years, architects have gone to great lengths to protect their buildings from marauding skaters. But as aesthetic trends move toward folded planes that transition seamlessly from wall to ceiling and back to wall, designers have been looking to their former adversaries for a lesson in flow…”

Spring 2009 Launch

Filed under: Uncategorized — Colby @ 2:07 pm

Our Spring collection has just hit stores! Check out our PRODUCT section for details of all the new gear and additional color ways. Visit our SHOP section to find the closest store near you to get the goods.

The Spacecraft “Secret Machine” collection visually dissects the idea that the world is run through unknown mechanisms. We live in a global community that is reaching a point of inclusion, yet we are unaware of the internal agendas that drive our societies; from political to spiritual notions we are pushed and pulled in ever expansive directions. Through this collection we seek to visually annunciate some of the archetypal aspects and directions - to comment on these and ultimately to use pop culture as a socially conscious vehicle to invoke change on a larger scale.

We just got the word from our friends Kore Ionz, here is the latest in what they got going on. Check the dates below and go get your reggae on.

SPRING 2009 :: AWAKENING

:: NEXT SHOW - EARTH DAY BENEFIT ::

What better way to start off the spring with a concert celebrating the Earth?  Our Earth.  Join us at Neumo’s on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 as we kickoff the 40th Annual Earth Day with a concert to help benefit Seattle Youth Garden Works, our new community partner.  They strive to educate, empower, and employ homeless and marginalized youth through garden-based training.  You’ll see the youth selling their delicious vegetables and starters at this spring’s gardening festivals.  Find our more at www.sygw.org.

Clinton Fearon, playing an intimate acoustic set, will be joining us on the bill.  As our mentor and constant source of inspiration, he has always been the voice of the people and we are so fortunate to share the stage with him once again.  We wish Clinton a safe flight home from his current tour through France and look forward to seeing his amazing smile in less than a month’s time.

Dub Down will start the night off with their powerful drum and bass grooves, driven by a lead guitar that could take you to the moon and beyond!  DJ DAG will be keeping the energy flowing on the turntables – he also happens to be the Reggae Music Director at our favorite community radio station, KBCS 91.3 FM!  We’ll be on the air with him for the Reggae Party show on Thursday, April 16th, playing a live acoustic set – we’ll catch you all on the FM waves!

:: KORE IONZ GO OFF TO COLLEGE ::

Springtime means less stressing about midterms and more time with music and culture!  We’re looking forward to going back to class with all of you down in Tacoma and Olympia!  Mahalo to the Student Activities Offices and Diversity groups for bringing us down!

04/25 The Evergreen State College, Olympia, WA
05/02 Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, WA

The changing in the seasons, like the change in the tide, is everlasting, cyclic, and a testament to the fact that each and every one of us can transform our lives, from when we are just six all the way to age 65.  Even our grandmothers have just started singing again!  What a beautiful world we live in – see you all as we spring forward!

Much love and aloha,

Kore Ionz
