The new Sea Skate has taken some time to get the ground broken after the original Sea Skate was taken apart years ago. With years of planning, meetings, and cutting through red tape, the new park will be finished on July 11th.
Spacecraft is getting involved by creating a custom design for the park. Designer “Duffy”, has taken inspiration from landmarks around the city and made this limited piece.

We will be printing only 50 posters and they will be given to the skaters, builders, and city planners that helped make this thing happen.
A huge thanks to Duffy for donating his time, the city of Seattle for letting these parks get built, Grindline for making sick parks, and high fives to Ryan, Matt, John, and the people behind the scenes…make it happen::

One of our friends Scotty Serchen spotted an old abandoned snow cat in the grassy fields of Northern California. He got up close and personal with the beast and sent us these photos from his adventure. Check it out :: Thanks Scotty!

On May 22, Spacecraft hosted an art show to debut the new “Spacecraft Gallery Sticker Sheets”. We joined forces with Japan’s Madbunny, all the artists on the sticker sheet, Patrick Lennox Wright Photography, Jones Soda, The Venik Lounge and the community of Seattle. The evening was dedicated to helping raise money for a social cause on the Island of Bali Indonesia. With a secret base in Bali, Spacecraft creates a portion of its products there where the people of Bali have given so much to Spacecraft. In the small village of Canggu, farming is a staple industry and at a relatively young age, kids can end up working in the fields to help support their families. This can keep kids out of school due to the expenses. With a small amount of funding, the schools can allow the local kids to remain in school and further their education. So, we are raising some funds, while hosting a great little party with some great artwork and good friends to make it all come together.
The images from the sheet were printed on canvas, framed and sold in a silent auction to be donated to the Bali School Fund. We thank the artists for their contributions and all of the humans that came out to support the show. Below is a display of some of the eye candy from the evening,

Duffy and I left work early on Thurs to drive down the I5 and connect with Windell’s head coach Reed Silberman and snow ninja Pat Milbery. We brought some goodies for making stickers and decorating the Spacecraft cabin. We discovered rain, the pussy wagon and some surf that fed our appetite. While at camp, we set up the newest designs for the Windell’s only sticker making project. Check it out ::

We just got this straight from Christina. She is a talented artist and amazing person, so if you know what’s cool, you’d be wise to check this out. Here are her words:
Hello!
Thanks for supporting my art all these years, I’m so lucky to have so much support and encouragement. This Saturday June 13th, I’m having an art opening at the Conor Byrne Pub near my house in Downtown Ballard. The second-Saturday of every month is the Ballard Artwalk, so it’s a good time to walk around, see some art, drink some beers, be laid back and have a good time. I’ll have 3 new pieces and a selection of work for this show called “Nothing In Common Bonds” a show that will feature themes involving our sometimes surprisingly unlikely yet profound relationships we have with one another.
This show is dedicated to my dear friend Larry Sommers who passed away suddenly in April from heart failure. 50% of any sales will go to the Seattle Print Art’s Larry Sommers Art Fellowship. Larry continually guided me as an artist with tech support, creative criticism, mini-van hauling, and pretty much kept me from loosing my marbles on many occasions.
Hope to see you next Saturday!
Christina
